I have a feeling he’s gonna be a pro bowler !!! Barely 20yo. Sky is the limit

Cat, you say in one breath he played way better as the season went on and he got healthier and then rip on the guy without accounting for that immediately afterwards. Doesn't seem like the best of arguments for hating the pick when you put it like that.

As soon as Jedrick Willis went to the Browns, I thought we immediately should’ve traded up with 49ers to get Wirfs. I think the Bucs were really smart to do that. But content with Jackson nonetheless.

Watched his ESPN special on YouTube and it gave me an insight on why he didn't finished up as most "experts" top 3 list as a tackle, dude got HUGE potential.

FitzMagic's tean? While Tua sits we should give Rosen a chance:
was he worth a #2, for trading or for a back-up job?

I’m already looking forward to next year’s draft we need to get Ja'marr Chase he is going to be a star. then a FS , and maybe a RT if no sets up

The Jackson pic reminds me of Ja'Wuan James when we pick him. I like the pick. Could be a Tyron Smith .

Miami clearly did not want to use draft capital to move up. With NO ONE at LT, Miami had no choice but to draft the best LT on the board in the first round. My ONLY knock on the pick is that Miami should've taken Ruiz at 18 and I believe Jackson would've been there at 26. Miami clearly did not want to gamble that he would've been taken and felt having a LT now was more important than drafting Ruiz at center.

we got Tua i thought they would of traded up to get wirfs

Fins Up!!! Worry about OT Jackson as our 18th pick but after hearing for other Dolphin fans ..he was not 100% at the Senior Bowl. Plus of all people Mark "butt fumbler" Sanchez game him a high grade as the captain of the USC defense and a stout bookend. So he will be a wait and see. I would have been even happier if we picked in the 3rd round OT Josh Jones or even C Cushenberry as they were available.

For to long Dolphins have not bothered with the future. Build a system, build a team mentality build through youth. Finally we are on the right track. In 3 years we will be winning play off games and looking back at this draft.

Jackson was quite a reach. Might've been able to get Tua later also.

Didn't like the fact Miami didn't trade up w/ SF for Wirfs. One second rounder would have gotten SF to move down to 18 (SF really wanted Kinlaw; hence them probably wanting a second rounder and not settling for a 4th to move down one spot like they did w/ Tampa Bay). Don't get me wrong, Jackson may develop into an elite LT. However, we could have gotten Tristan Wirfs that plays RT. I do not think that Hunt is quick enough to play RT in the NFL. Therefore, I view him as a Guard.

Hell ya brothers killing it…. Catching up with the show late. Been working my ass off, Thank God. Hope all is good with you guys and your family's… Stay safe

April 28, 2020 at 10:06 pm

Tristan Wirfs will not be a tackle in the NFL, the draft proved that out. Probably an elite guard which is fine too but as a tackle, at least for now, he is not imo

C, not a high fan of the player but you married need to the pick. His upside is great but he isn't a player I feel is ready to be a cornerstone LT.

A.J. did not get destroyed against A.J. Epinesa. He had 3 bad plays. One the entire right side got destroyed and pushed the QB right into Epinesa. Another, the QB only had to feel the pressure and step up in the pocket to make his throw and he wouldn’t have ended up hurt. Jackson actually pushed Epinesa out a lot around that corner but, the QB had no sense of pressure coming. The 3rd was a bad play by Jackson. He looked lost and like he expect d some help on the play. The rest of the game, Jackson did very well against AJ.

April 29, 2020 at 12:39 am

He was “destroyed” by Epinesa? I disagree. He played well against him. He won way way more reps… I watched every snap and there was a lot of passes and he got beat maybe 4x.

April 29, 2020 at 12:41 am

People wanted to trade up for trading up for a RT is a joke

I thought Jackson was a reach at 18 and how the board fell I was really hoping that Grier would have traded down that pick to get more 2nd or 3rd round picks to scoop up better talents. I felt 26 was the spot for Austin Jackson. Once he started climbing the boards before I just dismissed him I went back and watched his games that's when I discovered his story. He got 5 holes drilled into his hip that is how they extract the bone marrow. He was still in major pain and not recovered when he came back for his teammates. That's also when I realized this is the type of guy Flores was telling us he wants for a year. Selfless, team first, tough, family above all and smart. He tested right there with the best in the class and a higher ceiling than Tunsil without the false starts.
B+ He might end up the best in the class and has a monster next to him in Flowers

Not sure I am ripping the grade of D…but this is another one, tell me in three years. He is not Richmond Webb coming in but he also was the youngest player in the draft, didn't really get an off season, and might not have been asked to do the same things in college as he will with the Fins. Seems like every time I saw him play, his QB was running around in circles and then throwing to a receiver down field who would then drop the ball. …the psyche of a lineman in that situation, don't think it will be right.

April 29, 2020 at 2:22 pm

The problem with taking high ceiling guys (QB aside) is by the time they get there you get maybe 1 or 2 years play before they need paid. Meanwhile the rest of the league has noticed that guy you drafted is a FA soon and just hitting their prime.

Jackson sounds like a good guy and I'm sure he'll be fine further down the road but he was a reach at 18 no matter how you sugar coat it.

Can't buy beer yet. Who gives a crap about that!!!

April 30, 2020 at 11:19 am

I think the reason they didn't trade up for Wills is that Flores was determined to get his slot corner AND his two down DT. Let's hope neither Jackson nor Hunt give up that one play…

Another nassive reach. You hsd Jones who is both more physicsl and mre ready go on the third If you wanted to reach why not grab the center from Ohio State. This kid is not resdy snd is not s good run blocker. D
